He'll probably state that the aerodynamics were all wrong allowing the lit cigarette blow back into the open window. He may include the tobacco company, because the cigarette didn't extinguish quickly enough when he tossed it out the window.

I love this story as it includes two of my least favorite things, smoking and littering. All littering smokers should face similar concequences!!
