Tonight Sete B and my self decided to give Vietnam a try ! Well there were some place is was Hike a Bike , other were toally clear of snow , and lots of Mix , there were some trail that were rivers of water , al Told it was HARD!!! But I'm glad we did it , a couple nights of Freezing temps should make it nice for the weekend riding . Under the power lines for the most part was clear, the Side trails could be pretty much 3 - 4 inhes of Pack snow.
in places going down hill was a lot of Pedalling work!
it seamed off of the trails in the woods had less snow than was on the trail .
Here steve is working hard on a flat.

We rode through the Rock Vise , which with the 6 inches of snow in it actaully made it a little easier , that said , I still did not make it through , but I made it farther than usual.

If you had posted a ride, I would have gone. I got new HID lights that I'm itchin' to blind someone with... er... I mean use.

Sorry but we only finally made up out mind that we were going to try it about an hour before we went out .

I went out yesterday around noon- too late in the day. Tried to enter from College Rock -lot's of thin ice with water underneath. Despite my uncanny sense of direction ( everything looks different in the winter, really !) I never actually made it in to Vietnam. Still had a blast. Probably around %90 percent ridable all in all. These cold temps should help.
Gotta get some lights !

Yeah, but parts of the woods were a bitch. It was just warm enough so you were not supported by the snow / ice. :P

'Nam would be ok IF the cold nights firm it up a little by Sunday. The powerlines were basically clear, but it was tough sledding to get there. We probably spent 1/3 of the time hiking on Thursday night because it was still just soft enough that you broke thru.
