Hey man,
by the end of the week-with some colder temps-we can (at last) get some early morning rides again...should be firm and fast-and icy if all goes well. Up for a saturday or Sunday morning jaunt-maybe wendell, or Dry Hill?
I need to get out again soon-or I'll start making frivolous bike purchases to ease the boredom!

this weekend should be great. It's not suppose to get above freezing for several days' stretch after tomorrow.

I was driving up and down 495 between Milford and Foxboro today, and I was amazed at the lack of snow on the ground in the woods. It looks like a good ride weekend, witht he meltdown continuing tomorrow, and a big freeze happening the rest of the week.

got out this morning for about an hour and the ground was just crisp enough to roll right along, couple more days of cooler temps and it is going to be sweet. Back on the Bike-Yea-Ha.

I might take a ride by Leominster later this week to check things out. That FSR in my basement is beginning to look mighty good, and them skis on my truck rack are starting to look boring.....

I've been checking out the weather this week thinking that we'd have tons of melting early in the week, then a freeze, making riding in Foxboro perfect on Thursday. Instead, I think we'll be riding in cold temps on very wet, sloppy trails. Should be fun. :'(

I guess mud season is beginning early this year. That is a good thing, because the earlier it starts, the earlier it ends.
Ride smooth, crash light.

Head north.
For the Nashua area:
Friday
Overcast
HI 31° F
LO 6° F
Saturday
Partly Cloudy
HI 25° F
LO 14° F
Sunday
Partly Cloudy
HI 27° F
LO 14°
Looks like it should be pretty frozen by Sunday.
I've got a nice new ride I'm itchin' to try out.

I just biked in middleboro. the trails "were like a box of chocolates..."
some trails were bare, some were still impassable. Overall a good ride, though.

It's a '03 Kline Palomino, in a very pretty black color.
It's pre-owned, (as they say in the car business) but it's new to me.
Strictly speaking it is not yet mine. I'm waiting for ridable conditions so I can take it out for a real test ride. But if the rides up and down my driveway & around the neighborhood are any indication, Minkhiller will be getting his $$ soon. :)

Trails in foxyladyboro last night were more like xc ski trails (nice pics Tom) than bike trails. 10% were nice and ridealbe, another 10% had hard pack ice/snow that was not bad, and the rest were a crusty snow that trapped your tires and made for very very slow riding, comprised mostly of trying to keep your front wheel from washingn out. Thank God for the Piccadilly Pub. I don't think the conditions there will change much in the next few days.
Anyone know what Wamptuk is like right now? Or, any other ideas for either clear or packed down trails? Thanks.

I thought the view of Mt. Washington looked familiar. The hike up 19 Mile brook to Carter Notch and then to Carter Dome used to be my favorite in the Whites, largely because of that view. The swim on the pond at the Notch helped, too.
