Hit the local trails yesterday and had a pretty successfull trip. The main trails (double track) that got the most foot traffic were packed the best. Some snowmobile tracks were easily ridable I even found a couple of singletracks that I could navigate. I did however run in to some deep spots that required hiking. Check out your local trails you may be suprised.
plenty of trails like this to ride....

Pretty much all of our trails look like that last pic.
But, if it gets warm today and the snowpigs do their business, we'll be back in business soon.

Well, I was going to skip riding today, until I saw this post from AA. Based on his observations, I took the short trip over to Douglas SF around 12:00pm. When I got there, I knew I would be able to ride.....I didn't know this, but snowmobiles are allowed on the trails in the winter. All of the fire roads that you would avoid in the summer were perfect for riding. There was evidence of others who had rode earlier this morning. Midstate, Schmidt, Ridge, and some others were all fine. Forget about the singletrack unless we get rain and a freeze or a lot of melting. Back on the bike = ;D

I XC Skiied Ft. Rock today and thought I should have gone on the bike instead. The other skiers, snowshoers and hikers have done a great job packing the trails down.

Hey, no offense! A family joke, since they stink so much (2-cycle, anyway). I've had plenty of fun on snow machines, too.

by wednesday, all of southern new england should be ridable.
Rode Myles Standish this past weekend. Many snowmobiles packed down the bike trails quite nicely. But every now and then I'd be cruising along, fat dumb and happy, and plow into a soft, deep snow drift and see my life flash before my eyes.

rode dogtown yesterday afternoon. we got a few inches if snow saturday night but by 3pm the trail aroung goose cove was well packed down. the trails surrounding had some xcountry ski tracks but were pretty much unridable. give it a shot. it was still fun just to get out there. you'll get a good workout climbing them hills. good laughs too.
