No the minks aren't quite as high as this isolated mountain. Thought more people would get this one. Everyone coming up 93 from the south to the White Mtns see's it, everyone going to VT from 93 to 89 see's it. On a good clear day you can see th Prudential Building, Mt Washington and the Green Mtns from the top. Someone has to know.

Sunapee?
Great easy climb if so. It has a more rugged feel than you would guess from the lowish height.

mtbtom proves to have the keen eye today. It's Mt Kearsarge as seen from Tory Hill meadow in Warner NH home of the Mt Kearsarge Indian Museum.

Hey Glenn,
That would be Mt. Kearsage.
As in Kearsage State Park about 15 miles west of Concord, NH.
...with the fire tower and communications tower on top.

On the Warner side it is Rollins State Park, on the Wilmot side it is Winslow State Park. People using the Warner side will find that they can drive 3/4 the way up the mountain.

Hey I just pulled out my New Hampshire Atlas & Gazetteer and found the highest peak you could conceivably see from RT93 & RT89 !
Another distinctive looking mountain in that area is Croydon Peak, visible off to the left as you travel North down 89. The granite slabs at the top almost look like they might be rideable.

Ah yes Croydon, there was a huge forest fire up there way back when and there is a large private hunting area there also. At one point hundreds of "wild" boar escaped into the surrounding area. There is a trail the I want to do in it's entirety next summer from Kearsarge to Sunapee. I have done portions and it is tight and technical.
I have also heard of a trail that circles Corbin Park in Croydon that I have yet to try. Just watch out for the pigs.

That Kearage to Sunapee trail sounds like an awesome ride.
I did Cardigan/Firescrew a few years back. Pretty wild descent from the top of Cardigan heading to Firescrew - lots of steep slab stuff. Entertained quite a few hikers that day. :)

I am not sure of the miles. The trail can be found on the north side of Kearsarge in Sutton, it is super technical in places and some sections are in poor condition but it's fun.
