A friend of mine is looking for a cheap bike ($250 or less) to give mt biking a try. If anyone has an older bike (size medium)hanging around that they want to get rid of give me a holler.
Thanks,
AA

AA - I'd part with my Marin Nail Trail for well under $250 leaving some room for you and your friend to improve upon it a bit. It currently is rigid and single speed - but take off the cassette spacers, throw a cassette on it and get a cheap 80mm fork and your friend would be good to go. The bike comes with disc ready hubs, but currently has v-brakes on it.

Hi Mark,
Do you have shifters, derailers etc or just as SS.

I have a front and rear derailleur and some shifters too.
LX Rear derailleur, XT shifters I believe, deore front derailleur - I also have lots of tire choices to choose from AA.

AA - I also might be able to add a Manitou Black fork onto the bike - it's 80-100mm adjustable with extra firm springs in it.
Someone is interested in buying my DMR minus the fork - so If you were highly interested in the Marin I could throw that Black on it.
How heavy is your friend? ;D

AA if your still looking I have a late 90's Cannondale CAD1. A friend of mine moved and left it at my house as he did not have room for it. He said sell it for whatever. So I guess any offer is good. It has a rigid fork, but you could probably find something on Ebay for less than 50 bucks. Let me know if you would like a picture. Its in good shape too. If he rode this thing 10 times it would be alot.

i have an old raleigh that my parents might let me get rid of. its a rigid and has cantilever brakes. the brake pads are worn, the derailleurs are out of adjustment, not much tread left on the tires, the tubes are leaking, and theres a bunch of grass and stuff in the cassette. i should give that thing a tune up. $50 is the most at which id part with it, but knowing my parents theyll probably make me keep it.
