I posted this on MTBR, but maybe this is a better spot for it. I received approval from the Conway Conservation Commission to build a new trail on one of the town's conservation properties. This proposal included building technical trail features, as there are abundant granite boulders, some of them quarried, to work with.

The first feature is a quarried ramp that only needed a gap filled and an exit rock. Looking up the ramp:

Scot tests it out (please discuss helmets in your own thread):

The next feature involved moving a big plank of rock about 140' to get onto another boulder. We frigged with this for over an hour before getting it on rollers:

Ready to move - the destination is a small black dot of a rock at the top:

Making progress, destination in sight:

Very, very cool. Any fast approaches to those ramps, or are they wheelie-drop exits?

Oops, out of sequence. Scot tweaking the bar.

Finally, arrival:

At this point Scot had to leave so I came up with a plan to work alone. First I built a tripod:

Soon enough, it was in place, with just some final adjustments to make in the spring.

I brought my kids out to evaluate.
"It's kinda steep, Dad".

Perfect!

There are at least 10 such features to build on this short trail, so ...... to be continued....

All rollable, though there will be a few optional hucks and a hip jump in features yet to be built.

Z got the first, I mean second ride over this stone ramp. She took a more radical line down the other side, though! Yes, I already posted this pic, just wanted to keep the photos together.

I'm thinking you could use some type of sling for your new set up, you know the strap type slings or chain which ever you prefer.

A couple photos of the latest works on this trail, since been named "Sticks & Stones".

Egg Roll (about 5' high, tricky entry move):

The Crippler, which has slammed a few of us. Much more difficult than it looks.

That stuff looks like fun. You'd love Borderland SP down my way. TONS of this sort of stuff.
