Borderland State Park has to be one of my favorite places to ride, more linear yards of granite baybyheads than I have ever seen elsewhere. I managed to get a ride in the day after Thanksgiving and found the new NEMBA trail - when was that put in? I think it'd take me about twenty rides to even think about cleaning it.

JBP,
"NEMBA Trail" took a few seasons before it became reality.
Back in winter 01/02 we got permission to start gps'ing the terrain in that section of the park. Since the rock outcroppings were spectacular in the section of the park, we made sure to include most of the good ones in the layout. It was intentional to make it a real challenging trail.
Also, the Land manager wanted to be sure to keep away from low lying water and water crossings, since B'land is wet in many sections, so GPSing helped with this too.

When we got final approval, we cut the trail in fall of 02. Just a couple weeks ago, we installed the trail signs.
Fun trail indeed. I actually haven't ridden it in quite a while, and need to get out there soon!

Yes, I noticed the new signs for Bob's trail also, thanks for the good work.

I also noticed that a horse had recently been through the western leg of Bob's trail. ::)

Thanks! SEMASS dedicated the Bob's trail to Bob Babineau who retired recently after 23 years service to te park as land manager. - My house is right down the street from Bob's trail/Bay rd entrance - I walked Bob's trail with my family before we ate on turkeyday, and noticed the horses had just gone through... >:(

When I go down to North Easton, I stay a mile or so down Lincoln; next time I go down maybe we can manage a ride together.

You need to check out Freetown SP. More non-stop baby heads than China has babies.
