and then all hell broke loose !
SloMoJo caught his rear derailuer in his spokes and promptly tore it off. but he was carrying a spare deraileur , so Here his is changing it. and of course nothing was going right , the cable frayed on him ( he had another ) , his chain got jammed between his crank and a frame , and then his battery was dying. and while this was going on. My light went out and started smoking like no tommorow. I melted the power connector , I guess that is what hppends when you replace a 12 watt bulb with a 28 watt. But I had my Emergency light so I pulled it out snapped it on my helmet.
and way here is SloMoJo and IF_rider playing bicycle repairmen

I only get to Nam 3-4 X/yr, but that rock along the 495 fence is the most identifyable. I ride that rock from the other side heading south so I can drop off the end.

Splat, you MUST use CP's flaming helmet rendering for your avatar... classic.
CP, perhaps you could whip up a SloMo pic with a Park repair stand attached to his camelbak.

LOL, the one time I rode with SloMoJo (at the Bear Brook Roast & Ride), he broke his derailleur and pulled one out of his pack to replace it!
Greg, either you go through a lot of derailleurs or you are just always prepared!
Love that flaming helmet.

Wisenhiemers!
Kitchen sink ... nice. ::)
It has been my experience that a spare derailler is more useful in the pack than at home.
I've done my part to keep SRAM in bidness. :-\

The spare derailleur was one thing, but when he pulled out a new cable I was really impressed.

i think hes got technology from the future. its like that car from the jetsons that folds into a briefcase. im sure he just pushes a button and his house turns into a camelbak. just ask him and ill bet hes got a fridge in there somewhere.

I guess you just carry stuff with you based on past experiences. For example, I always have my HMO card with me.

And I always carry the "slow moving vehicle" symbol with me and that's for use on the trails.
