Yeah, some will claim this to be spam, but they can k'off. I am not affiliated with Telphonic in any way.
pk posted a while back about long distance phone service with Telphonic, which benefits NEMBA. I signed on because their rates were excellent. You can pick a "User-Supported Organization" during the sign-up process. NEMBA and IMBA will receive a percentage of Telphonic's income. See http://www.telphonic.com/imba/index.php
I was happy because I got out of MCI and into a better service with better rates, while supporting NEMBA/IMBA.
Then I get a signed copy of Ned Overend's book in the mail. Pretty cool, totally unexpected. I signed up my work phone and got another copy of the book (to be donated to a neighborhood kid).
Today I get a package in the mail. What's this? An IMBA hat, a jazz festival music CD, a bunch of bike postcards, and a new Blackburn pump. What's this stuff, not something I ordered! Turns out it's from Telphonic, for no apparent reason (certainly not for my billings, because my phone charges are about $2 per month). These guys are very cool.
Anyway, check the rates, maybe you'll get some swag, too. And NEMBA will benefit from it.
