Rode on the south side this afternoon. Conditions are awesome! Deer season part 1 ends this Friday I believe. Then we have a week or 2 before round 2 starts.

SHOTGUN SEASON STARTS NOVEMBER 27TH AND GOES UNTIL DEC. 5TH. :'( THAT'S WHEN THEY TURN ALL THE NUTS LOOSE!!! AND IF YOU ARE FOOLISH AS ME TO VENTURE OUT, YOU WILL NEED AT LEAST 500 SQARE INCHES OF ORANGE ON YOUR BODY. I HAVE NOTICED DURING THE HUNTING SEASONS THAT ALL OF THE WILDLIFE GET VERY JITTERY AND START LITTERING IN THEIR WOODS. THEY SEEM TO REALLY ENJOY DUNKIN DONUTS, TIM HORTONS' COFFEE AND THEY REALLY SMOKE A LOT.

if you really want to freak them out.take a camera and point it at them even if you dont have film in it you should see the reaction this gets. swearing, yelling, littering. makes you wonder what the morons with the guns are nervous about.and these are the idiots that think they are going to get a deer at 11:00 am when the sun is up and the deer are hiding.

Sounds like you guys are into stereotyping. In that case let me take the hunters perspective here: You guys are a bunch of spandex clad sissies tearing up the trails, scaring the animals, and looking really silly riding around like a bunch of kids.
Instead of complaining amognst yourselves, try talking to these guys. Ask them how the hunting is going. Pick up that dunkin doughnuts cup yourself. Stop being paranoid and fearful and try to learn about what these guys do and maybe you'll find out that a lot of them are normal friendly people.
Not everyone mountain bikes. Some people would rather ride horses or ride dirt bikes. Some would rather hunt. Some would rather watch Nascar at that bar near Big River. Lighten up and share the land.
ps - did 20 awesome miles in Freetown Saturday and not one hunter shot me.

Yeah I love stereo types - makes life easier, way less thinking involved that way.
I really don't think anyone here is bitching about hunters in general. In fact AG and geezer were making fun of the dummies out there at noon with a cup of coffee and a rifle (we all know how deer love coffee !). The guys are obviously not representative of hunters in general. Relax, it's OK if you like hunting (or you just dig Ted Nugent) - like it or not it's necessary anyway. DEM needs their liscence (sp?) fees as well.
And yes I do in fact lug out tons of crap (coffee cups, water bottles, beer cans etc.) on every ride. Most riders do this naturally.
