Here are some pics detailing the conversion, since pics are better than words sometimes.
Here is what I started with:

Grinded down what was left of the teeth on the big ring to make a bash ring, also removed the granny ring.

I had to drill out some small pins that held together the cassette, plan on using a 20t to start.
I'm outta shape after not riding for a few months....

had some aluminum tubing laying around, and the ID was a perfect fit over the hub, so here I am cutting it to the width needed for the inside spacer.

Here is a view of the chainline
I had to use the 11t to hold it all together, I'm sure I could find a washer to do this job, but it'll work for now.

I have to go back to the drawing board as the first try at making a chain tensioner broke on the maiden voyage (driveway wheelie) or breakdown and actually buy one.

If yo want to stay cheap on the tensioner, try using and old tiny road bike derailieur and use the set screws to keep it aligned with the chainline.

An old washer will definitely work to hold it all together, I used one on one of my SS. Not sure what size washer exactly I just found it in an old parts box, I think it actually came off an old wheel (Mavic maybe?) and was the rear spacer.

Got a chain tensioner (Surly), and now the conversion is complete.
Second trip and everything seems fine, nice and quite.
Just need some riser bars.....

Here is a detail of the singleator, a breeze to setup once I bought the 18mm cone wrench. ;D

The thing could probably use a new paint job too!!!

Nice tensioner. I had one once but never used it. Looks nice. Did you end up using a 1/2 link or was it not necessary.

Thanks!
It works great, no half link neccessary, but I did have to buy a 18mm cone wrench, to set it up, no biggy, I don't mind buying tools!
Thanks again George,
We gotta ride in the spring,

I found a spacer to take the place of the 11t cog that worked on my last SS project. I found one of those little thin spacers notched for the freehub body. I'm using that on the end under the lockring and haven't had any issues after maybe 8 hours on that bike.

So far so good with the 11T on there.
Although I haven't had it on any nasty rocky rooty trails yet.
Hopefully that will change soon. ;D

When I built my first one I didn't even use the 11t cog. I just used spacers so that the spacer overhung the freehub body. Then I tightened the lockring down and that was it. It never loosened on me. I did tighten it alot though. I might have used that serrated washer in there too but no 11t cog.
