By the way, special thanks to Jisch, Slider and others for the tour of Case Mt. in CT. yesterday for NEMBA's BOD ride. I didn't realize the place was all up and down. (I was half expecting to be led off a cliff for my past sins) ;)

No problem. It was my pleasure to show you guys around, and put faces with names. Stop by some other time when you've got more time (and there are fewer leaves) and we can do a real tour. We missed some good stuff.

Toddski and Radair are sick on the singlespeeds. Don't know how they rode those things there.

I'll put up some pictures tomorrow. Didn't get to it last night.

It was a lot of fun showing you guys around!

There were more than a few who walked some of the later climbs. We might have bit off a bit more than the group could collectively chew, I'm afraid. Being on the heavier/older side myself, I can empathize. It is pretty hard at Case to avoid the climbs, though.

My take is that NEMBA is in good hands!

I think my climbing legs were packed up with the summer clothes and put in the attic. (That's what happens at this time of the year when you're lucky to ride outside one day a week). I'd be a stronger rider if I rode there more often, or anywhere else for that matter.

Agreed, Case rocks (literally)! Got to get back there for an epic! Thanks for leading some kicking rides.

Yes, that place was very cool, but could you please rake all the trails before the next ride? Maybe move some of those sharp, hidden rocks and slippery logs, too. ;D

That was a great! Jisch leads my kind of rides! A “mellow” pace that kills everyone, blowing though intersections a mile ahead, actually leaving for ten minutes before realizing the group is still on break and isn’t following, leading us to the outer reaches of known civilization just so we can panic and ride like hell to get back in time! Perfect. Thank God Slider was hanging back as sweep. Good job both you guys! Case was a great place for a single speed! Rob and I had a lot of fun with the extra challenge.

I see - I was sweeping! I thought I was sucking wind.

Sleeping - I like that. ;D

Wow! Thanks for that, I think. I'll admit that I have never led a ride of that size. I made a few "errors" in judgement in the beginning (and probably at the end too!). Just for clarification - I only blasted through intersections after ensuring someone else was there to point the way, now if that someone decided not to wait until the last person made the turn, well... I really had a good time.

I took some pics, but not many too busy herding cats ;D
