I must say thanks to every one who came out and helped make this new trail, I can't wait to ride it ! We had about 25 Poeple ( Mitch has the actual count ) and we cut a New Access Bike trail. from The abondon rail Bed Up to a main trail . probably close to 3/4 of a mile.
It looks awesome !
I didn't take many Pictures because I was too Busy Helping make this trail.
But here is a fun little rock gap wer went between . and I know a few of the people there wer alreay eyeing a line to hop across that Gap.

This was probably the spot the most time was spent on was the most difficult to build and will be the toughest to cross , a challenge all around.
I put a black lijne to show how theis beast will need , and there really is no Sally line because this is how we cross the swamp

and once you are at the top , the rest of it is not much easier , down into a dip backup and then a hard right , with about a 1 foot drop off the end.
Will Be fun.

You beautiful beautiful people! Love the rock gap. Splat. That's it. I hit rock bottom. Sort of ashamed to admit it, but I haven't been to Vietnam. Well the first step is admitting I have a problem. Now the solution: It's called Sunday. Anyone game to give a tour?

theres generally a sunday ride that some people give around 9 from the wendys parking lot down there. if you have more of a freeride riding style then this group will suit you perfectly.

I rode the new trail today it was awesome. I came accross the trail from the loop inside Vietnam (The trail we have always called "the three delights" because of the three great climbs, but now I use the cut off by the drops so its really only the one delight) and rode from there out to Rt. 85. The trail was cool, had some nice rock crossings and 100% ridable. We turned around when we reached the old railroad bed just before 85 to avoid a 100yd mud bog. Did I miss the end of the trail or is the idea to ride through the wet stretch to 85?
Either way it was an amazing feat of trailbuilding and groomed so well I know a lot of people spent a lot of time building it, THANK YOU!

Eammon (baddna) took me down through the new trail yesterday. I was home sick from work and, through some act of stupidity, decided to go riding. I do feel better today though ;D It was my first time in 'Nam and I see what the buzz is all about.
The trail, the first time through, is a little off putting, but on the way back out it was a great amount of fun. The rock ledges are great and give you a nice mix of technical work and fun drops. The rock bridge that splat posted at the top frightens me. No easy line and the only line that is available is sketch at the least.
Are there any plans to re-hab the bridge on the railbed? I'd be glad to volunteer to help with that.
Cheers,
-Andrew
