where did you aquire such fine wood for free? also does cherry withstand the elements as good as cedar or redwood?

Cutoffs and scrap from a wood shop (checks, sapwood), it would have been burned as fire wood or thrown out. We built another bridge 4 years ago and the cherry is still as good as new. It does have a light coating of linseed oil.

I got a mess of scraps half that size from my brother's work and have build boatloads of furnature from it by glueing it up.

If you get more let me know. I'll trade you all the P/T decking you want for it ;D
