Hi,

Contacting legislators on issues is important and addressed in some of these threads. Unfortunately, bike advocacy often falls on deaf ears.

One thing that is not addressed much is supporting candidates that support biking.

Here's one ( me ! - running for NH State Senate ):

I ride on the road and in the woods. I've been seen doing trail maintenance too :) My son was a Cat 1 racer and also raced cyclocross....I'm bike friendly :)

We live next to Bear Brook and cherish it.

I'd appreciate any support!

If I lived up over the border and in your district you'd have my vote. Best of luck with your campaign and the election. I was a city councilor for three years and also worked as a legislative aide at the Mass. State House. Be prepared to get stopped at the grocery store, restaurants and possibly the bike trail. Politics is definitely a full time job with lots of overtime!

You bike, thats fine and dandy.. But not enough to get my vote. Hell Goerge Bush MTN bikes, and Kerry is a roady. They're both horable presidential condidates.

Heres things that matter to me
-Preservation of citizens rights

Well thats pretty much it right now with all the teireny present in government these days

Hi, thanks for your replies.

This is a spot where people who care about biking go, so, since I share that interest, it made sense to post a message here to try to get people interested.

OTOH, the fact that I bike, by itself, should NOT be reason enough to vote for me. I never intended to pretend it was.

That's why I posted my url, where, if your interest were piqued by the fact that I ride, you might have found out whether you also agree with other things I believe in. Or possibly you might be outside my district but be encouraged to check out candidates local to you.

Yah I know about being stopped all over the place, I was a state rep for 2 years. Pretty cool though, people are generally aware that you have a lot of stuff to do and dont waste your time over stupid stuff. Mostly. :)

And it's way cool when you can actually help with something.

Hi Kevin,
I'm pretty proud of my endorsements -
NARAL, NOW, Teamsters Local, Iron Workers Local, Plumbers & Steamfitters, AFL-CIO, and others....

Still wasnt enough. OTOH I've met a lot of people and learned a lot of stuff. Sure wasnt wasted time.

I love your hummer banner. Pretty much says it all.

regards,
