Ok.. here’s my first attempt at a bike video. Still trying to figure out resolutions and such…sorry, quality is fuzzy on this one. Next one will be better. Anyway here you go!

Enjoy!

Nice video. Using the Clash was a nice touch.

BTW - there's a great tutorial on video/compression techniques at:

That dude has some serious vids. I haven't really used his tips, but figure I will before too long. I'd like to make a video of the stunts in my back yard at some point.

Well Petefancypants was no help- Dude I’m using a Cannon Elph s230 and Windows Movie maker!

It seems like the footage I shot in 320x240 is less blurry than the 640x480. In Movie Maker, the clip was very crisp and the sound was good, but when I “saved as movie” in high quality, the finished clip was… well what you see now, not great.

Sorry about that. I guess he is using high end stuff. When I do mine, I will be using my Minolta digicam. I made a movie for my daughter for school with it. It came out pretty good, but dang it took sooooooo long.

Cool video. I want to get into making some biking videos. I'm looking into buying a decent digital video camera to shoot with.

It's a secret location :-\ ???

good thing the place is not on the name of the clip or the link cause then people might figure it out.

I hear that place is like 16 hours from Boston and you have to park on the street and risk towing or getting buckshot in the hiney for trespassing then the good stuff is like 37 miles in and it's 40% hike a bike and 50% swim a bike to get to it all the while being eaten by hawk sized black flies year round and constantly little dogs are running out under your tires.

“Fort Rock the Casbah” was shot entirely in Saudi Arabia.

Todd,
Nice work! Love the title and soundtrack.
Try using the "other settings" option in WMM when saving to your computer. I usually save mine for sharing on the web at "Video for Broadband (512kbps)". That will save it as 320 x 240 @ 30fps.
I'm dying to see a higher res version. You got some great clips that day!

I made this last night saved at that setting

And MTBR. What a spammer!

That is some cool ****, Toddski. I can see why some big bikes are a good idea. My already leaking air shock would go flat after a short ride with you guys.

Will you take me there? Show me the goods? huh, willya?

I've wanted to try this for a while but I'm afraid of trashing the camera. Any suggestions on protecting it, or a very rugged model, Also would be helpfull if subzero temps aren't a problem. ( Record, nice quality by the way)

Todd, I really liked the footage but your audio layer was corrupted.

I'd recommend saving it as an mpg or mov rather than Microsuck's format. Better compression and you know it will work on everyone's machine.
