Was it not just a couple of years ago that members of NEMBA were asked to donate just $5 to register on these rides? Why is it now $15?
I'm too cheap

Hey Cheeze,
Thanks for pointing out the error on the adventure page. It has been corrected.
The Great Brook event is $10 for members, $15 for non-members and is free for people who join for the first time. Kids 15 and under ride free with a registered parent or guardian.
All proceeds are donated, so NEMBA doesn't make a dime.
For the NEMBAfest, there is a flat $15 cost because of the much higher costs of production. It's unclear at this time but this event may be a benefit for NEMBA, and it will be a great time.
Personally, I think it's a bargain.

I'm cheap too, with money and time.
How about volunteering?
What does it cost then?

10 bucks for someone to head out and arrow a nice 18-25 mile loop in park I may not know too much about?
I think it's a great deal - and which has already been pointed out the money goes back into the sport which makes it even a better deal.

The Great Brook Harpoon ride will be a benefit for Great Brook Farm State Park. The money will be used by the ranger to improve the park, and some of it may be used to help us finish the 200' bridge we need to build on the new singletrack that we built this spring.
Additional donations are always accepted at each of the events.

How come there aren't any Harpoon rides in NH?
Maybe because of Redhook? Smuttynose?

We'd love to put on a Harpoon ride in NH sometime.
For now, there are a few great events happening in NH this fall.
Check out the EFTA/NEMBA Fun ride in our events section:

Thanks PK
I'll be at the BB Boogie, possibly the Turkey Burner.
I hope the event at GBF goes well, I can't make it.

I might add that we did put on two Harpoon rides in the White Mtns, but bagged it last year due to the IMBA Epic. Perhaps we can do them again in the future?
