Size matters!

Some regular posters who I won't name (10-dog, for example) have avatars that take up half the damn page. Please resize your avatar so scrolling through a thread doesn't give me tendonitis.

That can be controlled by the yabbse software.

Sorry, but you've gotta be crapping me. That's pretty lame imho. Now if you said it took too long to download on your system that would be one thing but excesive use of your finger?

Hey 10 Dog Robs alright and he is right it is only polite to limit all the crap we put up including our avatars in order to keep the viewable area of the screen reasonable. I was laughing at his verbiage not his point. We all including myself need to remember etiquitte. so come on now.. be polite....You wouldn't wear a baseball cap into a 4 star resteraunt would you? ::) Welllllllllll? Would you?

Besides a Big avatar probably indicates other shortcomings ;D ;).

No, what's lame is your giant avatar taking up about 60% of a 21" monitor for one or two lines of BS.

Please resize it? There, I even asked nicely.

Gone. Sorry to annoy you. But you'll still have to put up with my and everyone elses BS. Now you can work on the rest of them. Happy trails.

August 2nd, 2004, 01:01 PM

Jisch

Is this going to warrant a:

"this avatar approved by radair"

under all the avatars now?

Sometimes it's not the size of avatars that get annoying. . .

gnurider1080
August 2nd, 2004, 01:23 PM
there we go, now its a much more manageable size

Hmm, maybe there's some variation in what we see. My av shows up at 3/4" by 1", while gnu's was 4.5" by 3.25".

I have no interest in being an avatar cop, it just gets old seeing the same big pics over & over. I'd turn them off if there was such an option, but I don't see one.

If I'm in the minority you can throw me out.

August 2nd, 2004, 02:21 PM
Dosen't matter anymore, there getting so small, they're useless anyway. Got your wish dude. Carry on. Anything else we can do for you?

August 2nd, 2004, 02:23 PM
I'll make sure i post HUGE pictures though, and lots of 'em if that helps.

radair
August 2nd, 2004, 02:41 PM
Damn, that was my next topic!

Your chopper pics (coolest one I've seen, BTW) were so big I couldn't see the whole pic at once. Don't you just hate that horizontal scroll bar......?

August 2nd, 2004, 03:10 PM
Naaaww, my fingers go x and y without duress and my "brain "pulls the picture together (what's that called?) if scroll fast enough. Thanks for the chopper comment though. I don't mind big avatars (Todd's i guess would be boarderline for you too? or was it just the primary colors that were throwing you off? (take that in jest now as i usually just try to add a little stupid humor to this forum whether anyone gets it or likes it or not) I figure 60+% of what goes on here is BS anyway so why should i be any diff? Besides i enjoy being annoying (what's that called?) I kinda enjoy all those big pics, like Knucks bikes and house for instance, peoples trips to Colorado, ventures around this tri-state area and even overly sized "in-laws" and yes even multiple posts depicting un-resized photos of chopper bikes occasionally, but that's just me. And, oh yeah, long run on sentences It's all OK, be cool and enjoy an avatarless 10-Dog, I'm OK with that, just don't ask me to lose the BS 'cause that's personal. ;D ;D

Is my avatar an acceptable size? I have a smaller one on my server, but it would require effort to change the link. Frankly, I don't feel like navigating into my profile to do that.....

What I want to know is why you have to use an image from the web. How come you can't use a pic from your hard drive like on other sites?

Put "your" pic on something like Photobucket.com and load it from there.

You can upload your avatar in a post here at NEMBA, then just link to the address (do a right click/properties and cut and paste the link).
