you won't be too far from Napa valley...i've never ridden there but i've heard its got some decent trails

If your willing to travel a little further I would strongly advise you to get to the Sierra Nevada's. Lots of great riding over there with high elevation and incredible views. I used to ride the central Sierra's frequently. If you decide to ride south of Yosemite, i can give you recommendations on trails and some possible contacts for a guide.

You also may consider going to Monterey and riding Laguna Seca. This is where the Sea Otter Classic is held. Nothing technical, but the trails are very flowy and fast and a blast to ride.

well the location is going to stay as is because we are going to visit my dad who is working out there for the summer. plus we probably wont be able to travel far because there will be only one car among us. actually the area is more of the silicon valley area so if anyone knows of good trails in that area please tell me.

There's a lot of Californians on the MTBR "Passion" board (http://forums.mtbr.com/forumdisplay.php?f=44). I'm sure if you put something up there looking for suggestions, you'll get some.
