I'll be in northern VT for vacation 8/9 - 8/15. I'll be staying in the Colchester area.

I'm interested in meeting up with 'locals' for rides while in town. Can ride day and evenings. I would classify myself advanced intermediate.

I rode with some guys from the Alpine Shop (Alex if I recall...) last summer. Does anyone know if they still do a Thursday night group ride?

I am also interested in getting over to the Army Base near St. Mike's.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the link. I'm very farmiliar with Catamount. Probably a little too farmiliar. It's a great place, run by really nice folks, but I've ridden there so much over the past couple years I sort of a victim of Catamount overload. I'm hoping to get to a couple of new places on this go-around. Of course, I'm sure I'll end up there at least once during my stay. I always do. ::)

How about the White Mountains?

I'm not opposed to them, but I'm making a concerted effort not to stray too far Burlington on this trip. It's hard to call it a family vacation when you're off on solo riding boondoggles the whole week!

Guess you'll just have to get your priorities straight:
1) cycling
2)cycling
3)cycling
;)

these days it's more like:

1) 8-week old baby
2) 4-year old
3) wife
4) biking...

::)

Wow, you're lucky that biking is even on your list! You must have an awesome support system. I couldn't do a thing until my son was about 7 years old. Anyway, I suppose you could call Earl's Cyclery in South Burlington about the trail availabilities. Here's a link:

I got my requisite Catamount ride in early this week! Rode this morning with a friend who had never been. There was quite a bit of mud (and 'squitos), which made it pretty tough going in some spots, but overall a nice ride. They have a really nice facility there. Hoping to hit Camp J later this week if anyone is interest (see other VT ride board thread).

Thanks
