I was planning on heading south for the festival this weekend to experience some new trails. I dont believe that I can convince any riding buddies to make the trek with me as they do not have 5 days weekends and hate me for it :P. Mostly I dont think they want to make the 1:30 to 2 hour drive.

Mostly looking for some info on the rides, trails, lengths etc. as the harpoon page seems very limited info wise.

Thanks

In general the trails at Concaponsett are very rocky and rooty, there are some moderate hills, some killer hills, but most aren't that bad.

PM Snirch - I think he laid out the route. If he does half the job he did at the Snip last year you will not be disappointed, sore, beat up, bloody maybe, but not disappointed.

We've got a good lineup of trails this year. Almost every hill is worth the climb. Snirch and I are meeting tonight to go over routes. We've got a couple Hero loops added in this year, so if the intermediate loop doesn't work for ya, pick up the hero loops. All rides will start out of Pattaconk Lake and head out all over. We will have some aid stations out there in case you find yourself lost or in need of some minor repairs. I suggest some bug spray, it gets a little nasty out there this time a year. Also if you need to cool off after the ride, there is a lake with swimming permitted not too far from the registration booth! This is a 3rd year at the location and we keep coming back, so something must be good about it! Hope to see you there!!

Cockaponsett rocks - quite literally too I might add - some tasty and tough rock gardens lie within them thar trails!

I'm still looking for some folks to ride with - might have to just show up and tag along with a group or something.

Cheers,

Not really a festival. More like a recreational, self-guided ride(s) followed by Harpoon hosting a pub party in the area.

All will be ready to go at 9am. Breaking down at 1pm.

Something for everyone. 5.5 mile dirt road loop - 8 mile begineer/intermediate. 12 mile solid intermediate. 18+ mile advanced (the intermediate route plus some tacked on tasties).
