Yea, we converted it to a road rig (drop bars, rigid fork, STI shifters) and liked it so much, we want a true road rig. Can't justify two tandems though.

I see what you mean. Two tandems seems a bit excessive. Especially for a family of two that owns multiple geared mountain bikes, road bikes, singlespeeds, downhill bikes, choppers... I think you should keep it but since I know it is unlikely that I will change your mind, I will help you plug it.
This is a great bike and if you live in the Boston area it comes with a built in network of tandem riders. ;D

You are right about us not getting a lot of tandeming in this year. Have also noticed that there have been a lot fewer tandem outings this year. Are we bringing everybody down? We are thinking of getting one of those burley trailers for next year. Should be interesting pulling one of those through the woods behind a tandem.

Here's a pix of the tandem as it currently sits, built up for the road. I swapped it over to do the MS ride. I have all of the other components to turn it back into an offroad rig (Moto 100 fork, Magura Raceline hydro rim brakeset, bars, knobbies, smaller chainrings, shifters and CaneCreek Thudbuster LT post).
As it stands it's a fine road rig. Cathy and I did a century followed by 75 the next day on it and were in the 1st groups to finish both days.
Will sell as is with parts for MTB and road for $1350 or will sell as road or MTB specific for $1200.

Sure would! But then I think about the wife nag.., er, I mean whispering sweet nothings in my ear the whole time.
Then I'd have dreams where no matter how hard I pedaled, she's right there behind me. :o
