I've been riding Great Brook Farm, and want to know what else is around the Acton area.
I have about an hour in the mornings before work.
I saw a trail head in Stow off South Acton Road during a road ride, anybody ridden it?
I think this is PK's backyard......Your secrets will be safe with me.

Send me a PM, I'll show you the local stuff.

The trail head at south acton road is for Flagg Hill, oposite side of the street is Capt. Seargeant Farm. Not a ton of trails in either location but if you know where to go you can link up a nice ride. I live right up the street.

A short fun ride is at Great Hill (behind the fire station on School Street). Some good single track and a few good up hill trails, and yes, the downhill side as well. From my house on School street, the whole ride is about an hour, though you could make it a little longer. It is an excellent aerobic ride.

Happy trails...

My office is on Piper Road....
Thanks, I have hiked Great Hill, but I didn't know if bikes were allowed there. That would be a good hour workout.
I remember the ball field seemed really muddy, how is it now?

Have you checked out mtbr.com?
Trails; Massachusetts; Acton Connected Trails.
Also, stop by the Acton town hall, they have a trail booklet with nice maps of the areas within the town. Most surrounding towns have these (for their own townships) available for $2-5. Nashoba Brook off Wheeler, Davis or Spring Hill is good for an hour or more also.

Acton, silly. Acccess off Wheeler rd (dead end) or Davis off Rte 27 (main st) northeast from the intersection of 119-2a and 27. Davis is about 1 mi, Wheeler about 2mi up from the intersection. Spring Hill is Off Strawberry Hill (a bit south on 119-2a) of that same intersection). A few hundred acres of collective conservation parcels with say 4+ mi of worthwhile trail, some pretty rocky, mostly level with sm hills. Some areas (lower) can get very wet and nasty (toddler heads) There are usually a supply of maps at Wheeler rd trailhead.

Thanks for that link...

I rode Pratts Brook today (my first ride in a month since cracking a couple of ribs). It is not a bad loop, though not very long. Someone has been working on this trail with a couple of new bridges over wetland area.

I stuck to the yellow trail. It was a good work out, but certainly not an epic ride. There is one small section that is not rideable, but easy to portage.
