I'll be spending much of the summer in the Townshend area. Does anyone know of single track or technical riding in this area. I'm trying keep the commute to Mt Snow for special occassions.
Local reference points for me are the Townhend Dam, The River Bend market, Harmonyville General Store.
Thanks

Hey,
I'm from Ludlow...a hop skip and a jump away. There is some awesome, I mean awesome riding in Jamaica. You go to the Jamaica state forest (no fee required if you don't make eye contact with the office *laughs evily*) and ride through the playground, and follow that road to the dam (pretty straight shot) then up the dam ( a real lung buster...great view) then go to the tar road and go right. A ways up the road on the left is a gate, that's the trail head. follow that, there are a couple of loops which I've never been on. If you stay left most of the time you hsould be set. You'll ride through single track on private property, the guys who owns it built the trails and welcomes riders. NEMBA did some work there last year I beleive. there's no turn offs really. You'll get to some pretty steep downhill, kinda tech. It dumps out behind the guys house in ferns...pretty rocky...CAREFUL. Follow the dirt road to the school ( you pass it on your way into the park) and then go left on that road and back into the park. Sounds complicated I know, but if you can decode my non sense the ride is awesome!
Have a great time!
Ethan
