October Mountain

A buddy and I are heading to MA at the end of June for a Mountain bike trip and heard October Mountain is a worthwhile stop. Is it worth it? How well are the trails marked? We are planning on a one day stop on that side of the state and then heading east.

I've only ridden there once so I'm no expert. Here is what I found. Lots of double track and lots of hills. I went during the fall foliage season so that was worth it alone. I dont think there is much singletrack there (the motorcycles were blazing illegal trails acording to the ranger). Speaking of motorcycles they are legal there so you need to be aware.

Hopfully some locals could chime in and give you the full scoop.

Go to Pittsfield State Forest instead. The trails are really twisty, long, and fun. Miles of single track too! Many of these trails are used during Pedro'sFest....
