Wow was yesterday's RI-NEMBA ride in Arcadia awesome! The weather cooperated with the fog giving way to some sun. The route planners did an excellent job plannning three loops of various length going from 10 miles to 24 miles. I did the ~ 22 mile loop and was challenged, tired and happy at the end.

Having a water station with some fruit, water and advice at the mid-point was a really nice touch. Not having to navigate and just follow the route is always fun. This ride was a fund raiser for the Special Olympics that also had a noon time cook out. My thanks to the organizers and staff who pulled off this event.

I learned about some different trails in Arcadia from the ride and can't wait to go back again.

If you go on an Arcadia ride try to avoid riding over the Lady Slippers which are a rare wild orchid that is in bloom right now. Lady Slippers like acidic well drained soils and there are a few of them south of Rt 165.
