MTB Central in southern VT?

Got a call from a New York Times reporter wanting to know if there was a mountain bike mecca in southern VT that would make for a good NYC tourist destination.

Any ideas?

An unknown mecca in Southern VT? I think the only "mecca" in VT is KT, period. Arguably, thats the only real "mecca" in all of New England. There are lots of great places to ride but few "destinations" or "meccas".

What about Mt Snow or Killington? Not my scene, but they rent bikes and there's other boring to me, but maybe interesting to a "tourist" stuff to do in the area. Keep those New Yorkers away from the Kingdom Trails! It will be crowded and full of rude, pushy people, kind of like, say, Killington or Mt Snow in the winter ;)
