About due for a major league update on the progress and overall situation of the "Vietnam" area. Trails plan, parking plan, interfacing with other user groups plan, tie in with the abbutting land owners plan. I think a lot of people would like to see some definitive. master plan type information on what's up with the infamous Vietnam, or is it just me? Maybe formal monthly updates?

I went riding there last Saturday for the first time of the season. Seems like the trails need a little TLC after this hard winter. I’m sure someone like Splat could fill you in on more details then I, but I think the first steps of action are getting to know the other property owners which abut the nemba parcel, and easing any fears about the “wacky” mountain bikers just moved into the neighborhood. I believe there is also an environmental study being conducted. As far as all the answers to your questions 10-dog and others, the way I see it, We all in the MTB community saved one small section of woods in Vietnam from development, we will have trails to ride forever…end of story. All of this other peripheral stuff like parking, ORVs, stuntsquacthes, trail plan, etc..etc, is now the burden of the Vietnam Committee to muck though. I really don’t see any drastic changes happening on the property any time soon, but I’m sure there will be some routine maintenance, narrowing of trails, maybe some neat rock work, possible a map, but then again a map is no good without signage. You guys are right though; there should be an official update, or news page about the ongoing progress at Vietnam.

With the amount of hype this place has gotten in the past couple of years, there sould be a monthly update

Good point 10. A monthy update would be cool. Also, An offiicial NEMBA organized ride geared for us rank and file members, ie Begginer, Novice, Advanced Novice, and Intermediate riders would allow us to see and enjoy NEMBA's crown jewel

Well, it seemed like Vietnam was already over-used. How much more traffic could it really afford?

Lets pave all the trails with concrete to handle the extra traffic all the Vietnam hype is going to create!

;D

thought i would bring this back. i ride vietnam 3 times a week and apparently where we park now is also being threatened. i hesitate to mention where considering the fact that there seems to be more and more trash there accumulating on the ground. i pick it up but when i return there is more. is there any safe places to park now that are not 3 miles away? also would like to mention that if there is trash on the ground, whether yours or not, please pick it up since i know there are people on this board that park in the same place i park.

Does there happen to be an old blue couch that was dumped where you park?

Just wanted to make sure that everybody was aware of the information page we have on the website. This explains what is going on and has some good current info in the form of FAQ's. Check it out

I don't think much of the trash there is from mountain bikers. There are a lot of salesmen who spend the afternoon lunching, napping, and abusing themselves there. I'd be careful picking up any napkins in that lot.

Parked in this lot this morning. There is now 3 couches, a stove, a hot water heater, and a pile of junk. Doesn't look like any mountain bike trash, but we'll get blamed I'm sure.
