Awesome time. Went Saturday alone (as I have no friends :-[)
It's in Easton, MA and I would highly recommend it. There's a lot of nice singletrack. The thing I liked is that the uphills and downhills are equal, unlike a lot of the places I ride that are like 90% uphill and 10% downhill. This place is pretty technical and has an awesome ammount of downhill stuff with little drops and hucks here and there and also some major drops as well. I liked it a lot as it had semi-moderate flow. Lots of singletrack and some double track for the wife as well (she diddn't go this time)
I'll be going back here again as I haven't scratched the surface of what's in there. Had no idea what I was doing trail wise, but it's pretty well marked as well. Here are some pics.

Cool man. I liked the place, but it is a bit rocky and some of the stuff is slow goin. Any fast single track in there as well? Like I said, I probably only hit like 20% of the trails.

This place looks excellent! Where the heck is Easton?
Holy saddle angle, knuck!? How do you sit on that thing going uphill?

Yeah, I hit a drop and the thing tweaked, I diddn't have the tools to adjust it. It's got a bmx seat post diameter

Nice shots. I'd love to hear more about that place as well.
I may be wrong here, but I think its technically impossible for any ride to be more than 50% uphill or downhill unless you shuttle. ;D
At last year's Harpoon ride at Shenipsit I overheard someone complaining that the ride was "all uphill". Hmmm.
I suppose I understand what you mean though, some rides sure feel like you are riding uphill all the time.

Well the reason I liked the place was that the hills aren't bad, and when you get to the top, the downhills last more than 20 seconds, unlike lots of the other places I've been. It's got a lot of cool stuff. You wana crack ya head open? Plenty of stuff to do that on too.

Knuck, that place looks great. Post when you're heading down there again. I'll check it out with you. I'll be moving near there soon (Mansfield). It looks like that could become my new favorite riding spot. :)

I've been leading a Monday eve (NEMBA) ride all winter. (ridin' tonight) For mtn biking, the park is getting more popular, as NEMBA has made some great progress in there recently - 2 new trails in the last 2 years - and more to come!
Best part - this place is bigger then most folks think...and no motorized use allowed.
If I can get out SAT I'll join and lead you guys on a tour of the place. Say 9 or 10AM start? I'll let you all know for sure later this week.
On SUN @ 9 AM I'll be leading a spring cleanup ride there also - we'll be clearing deadfalls, blowdowns, and low hanging branches...another good way to see all the trails - we'll be hittin every one of 'em.

Mansfield/Easton is also close to F Gilbert Hills SF (foxboro) - great riding there too.

Borderland is a great park to ride. I was out there a lot last summer. It's very well marked and they have maps at the ranger station. It does get very busy when it gets warm out though. Lots of hikers and horses. Not sure if they are enforcing it now, but don't forget they charge $2.00 to park there...or $36.00/yr for a full state park pass. They do enforce the parking in the summer.
Drop me a line when you are heading out there, it's in my backyard too.

Nice - I notice on the map there's a "New England Mountain Bike" trail and there's a link to NEMBA on the website. How cool is that?

I live 20 minutes from Borderland. There is some really great riding there. Not a lot of fast singletrack, but if you like rocks and roots, this is the place for you. There are a couple of good places to test the strength of your helmet, too.
I agree, that it feels like an even amount of up and down. I've ridden in places where it seem all you do is climb. That sucks.
P.S. Great pix.

Yes - it's great for sure, a trail named after our sake...I can only give thanks to the hard work that NEMBA volunteers gave and the relationship that SEMASS has developed at the park in the last couple of years. more on that at a later date (singletracks) ;)
