All,
Just a primer to let you know about a big event in Southern NH this year.

The Seacoast Chapter is excited to have obtained permission to build a singletrack trail at Pawtuckaway State Park. The 5500 acre park has some amazing views and this new trail will bring you to some of the parks unique vistas.

The best part of the new singletrack trail is it will connect a link between two trails making for an incredible loop of climbing, decending and sweet singletrack, something for everyone! It will also move non-motorized traffic off a road section making for safer and pleasant outdoor experience.

Construction of the new two mile trail has been scheduled to start on the weekend of May 22-23 and we are going to need a lot of assistance on this project. Boardwalks, a bridge and plenty of side benching will be required before the trail can be officially opened.

Our next Chapter meeting is Tuesday, April 6th at the Loaf and Ladle in Exeter, where we will be discussing ways to promote and drum support for this trail. Join us at 6:30 - 8:00 if your in the area!

We will be posting more info after our meeting so check the forum for details, and see you on the trail!

Sounds like a great project. I've never ridden Pawtuckaway but I hear it's real nice. I'll come up and work that weekend if you promise to lead a ride in the future and show me where all the good trails are.

You're on AA! Pawtuckaway has some killer climbs, and interesting downhills, the faster you go the more interesting they get!!!
The best part is the layout of the new trail, designed by our trail ambassador at the park and a good friend, both are excellent riders and well versed in what would make a great ride.
They have incorporated nice views along the way so it will be fun to ride at any speed. Quite honestly they found some unique spots and although I have been to the park many times and enjoy it for the views I didn't know beautiful the park could be.

Kudo's to the Park Manager and the good folks at the state level in working with us to get this approved, great people indeed!
And most importantly to our trail ambassador Dave all the people who have worked so hard the past two years in laying out the trail, working with the land manager, the state, applying for permits etc. A tremendous effort and they never gave up, quite remarkable!

We can definately show you some good riding up here and I promise we will show you some of our favorite spots, even the stuff we like to keep secret, that's open to everyone that helps out!

Thanks AA, see ya soon!

Len - I've also put it on my calendar. Please send a reminder anyway.

I used to rock climb a lot at Pawtuckaway, but have only ridden there once in the late-80s. Looking forward to helping out and getting a ride in. Very cool place.

That's excellent "Radical" Radair, we really appreciate the assistance! We will send out reminders, directions, and more info very shortly as we are in the process of pulling it all together.

Yep, Pawtuckaway is a great place, and about to become even better!

This should be a blast actually. We are going to set this up as a two day trail care event. With a ride after the work on each day. Some folks will come for the weekend and others can only make the first or second day, it all works! We are going to have free camping on Friday and Sat night and we will provide a cookout/relaxation event on Sat to fuel the volunteers. Taking a page from one of your events, I'm guessing people are really going to enjoy it!

As an added bonus for those who are not familier to the area will be treated to a future ride to check out some of our sweet trails at Bear Brook and/or Fort Rock.

Thank you for your support, stay healthy and see you on the trail!
