Last Night I went into the decathalon sports in Bellingham, And they had rearagnged the store again , as we walked through it , they had Bikes. They never had Bikes before, SO I was expecting to see basic Department store Junk Bikes. The first Bike I came to was a road Bike with Campy equipment , the Next one had Shimano Ultegra. I was very surprised . so I took a look at the MT bikes , all Hard tails with Manitou shockes and Deore or LX level components. Funny thing was most og the Bikes the handle bars were turnd 90 degrees off , Obviuosly for shipping. They also Had quite a few good spare parts , real Wheels , SPD pedals , Look Pedals, tubes , tires , SRAM chains , SRAM Cassettes and even Tubular tires ( roadie).

they and there own Brand of Cycling clothing , gloves , shoes etc . I bought a pair of tights and gloves so we will see how they hold up.

It really was rather amazing to see this stuff in what I would consider a department store.

Decathalon is a major sponser of one of the big Euro road teams. The Decathalon store in Burlington has Jan Kirsipu's(sp?) bike from last year on display. Complete with Decathalon labels. Sounds like they need to start up a mtb team so they can get into higher end stuff there as well!

My first bike was a Wal Mart Mongoose, well first MTB that is. The handlebars were on backwards, the brake levers were on backwards and the bar ends were facing down instead of up, LOL. What a horrorshow that bike turned out to be. I though I was getting a deal "WOW, a Mongoose for $230.00 with full suspension" What a POS that bike was.
