What is the best color lens for riding glasses....given that around here we are in the woods quite often, regular sun glasses tend make it seem too dark in the forest. I am thinking of yellow as they appear to transmit the most amount of light as well as enhance contrast and depth. Any insight would be cool.....

As these will be perscription, I will not have the luxury of switching lens.

And remember, fashion is important too!

Thanks

i picked up a pair of Rx glasses last year and "racing red" works great for me. Not too dark for evening/wooded riding, but still great in the sun...i picked up a sweet pair of rudy projects from inspex.com...they are pretty good and the glasses are amazing, no distortion from the wrap around....i'd suggest checking them out if you don't have a good store you're planning to get from...they'll help you with lens colors as well..they reccommended the racing red for me and i couldn't be happier.

heres their link if you're interested

I once had the same problem you are having now. I went with Yellow ,for the same reasons you suggested. I feel for you .Riding with perscription glasses blows. I use to look like Kurt Rambis ridin a Mountain bike(bit shorter). I broke down and had laser eye surgury. Best thing I ever did.. Still use the yellow lenses..:)

I prefer amber for rides in the woods. I don't know if I get much of an enhanced sense of contrast but they seem to strike the ballance between cutting glare and letting in enough light to see in the woods. Mine are not prescription so I have several lenses and have tried dark grey and rose also. I like Amber best.

Good luck

Amber gives me a headache for some reason. Light green or brown works best for me. And I resort to clear once I scratch those up. I'm more interested in the UV protection,a and physical protection from branches and the like than the color enhancement.
