OK this is probably going way out on a limb but.... If you live in Providence and want to ride tomorrow night I'll be doing some SS hill work. I'll be ready to go after 5:30 or so, a few easy laps of Blackstone blvd to warm up and then repeats off of North Main and or Prospect etc. Up one street and down the next repeat until serious pain ensues. All the fun stuff. It should be about an hour or so, and it shouldn't hurt at all. ;) Post here if interested. I'll check back tomorrow, or drop me an email - mtbdee@hotmail.com

Yeah, I don't think anyone else does - judging by the lack of responses. I think I'm gonna need the fenders for this one, the roads at home are very wet.

I like how you've learned pk's tricks to lure riders to go with you. 1 hour, ha! No pain, haha! ;)

No one showed any interest so I went alone. It was a good ride, even after my seat post broke at the clamp (craptastic old USE alien) and my seat was run over by a car. I rode with no seat for another 30 minutes to make it a little over an hour. That which does not kill you only makes your legs hurt more - I'm sure that is what Nietsche meant to say. Luckily for me I have conducted extensive research into seatless or even postless riding techniques. (I have broken 4 posts over the years and it has usually occured way out in the woods). I'll probably be doing these weekly rides for a while - albeit with a functional seat and post combo. If you live in town (Providence) let me know if you're interested. The ride hits the hills off of North Main, Taber and Prospect streets, with some warm up/cool down cruising around.

Did another one last night with George, AKA GP -TJ on the forum. It was a good ride, and luckily the rain held off for the most part until we were done. Some loser threw a full Sprite bottle at George, but with 32:16 gearing I don't think we were going to catch him - (probably a good thing, you never know who you're dealing with these days). I'll be doing another one next week, most likely on Thursday unless it is pouring rain (or snowing heavily). Anyone is welcome to join, and you don't necessarily have to be on a singlespeed - it'll be difficult no matter what.

Oh wait I mean it'll be EASY, and there will be people handing out free beers afterward and it won't hurt at all (that's what PK would say anyway ;D).

Good thing that wasn't a free beer that guy threw ???

It was really easy. No problem at all...

Except I didn't know which would explode first, my heart or my head. It was a great workout. My legs were sore until Sunday when I went out to Arcadia. I felt good riding the trails though.

The weather isn't looking too good this week. Rainy. Definitely not going on the trails so if it looks OK maybe another hill ride.

What did I get myself into.

Yeah the weather looks real lousy - the Weather Channel shows rain from tomorrow through next Tuesday! That's hopefully going to change, the local channels show the sun returning by Sunday. I'm going to watch Thursday's weather pretty closely, if it's pouring and 40 degrees I may skip the ride. Lincoln Woods was in real good shape this morning, I'm going to attempt a ride early tomorrow at Foxboro for an hour or so. I'll email you tomorrow about Thursday, and I'll post here if I cancel the ride (not that anyone else is dumb enough to join us).

It's official the ride is off this week. It looks like the best chance for pouring rain will be tonight and Thursday night :-\. I also just found out I'm supposed to practice with my friend's band later Thursday night. Hopefully we will see the sun at some point this weekend, although it will most likely be road riding after all this rain.

Got it. I got my road bike back in working order last night. I will probably try to hit the road Sunday afternoon. I have to work both mornings this weekend so it will be tough to get out.
