Got a ride in this morning, 1.5 hours on the SS at Lincoln Woods in RI. The ground is nice and frozen and the trails are in good shape - what a great time for 10" of snow to fall! At least I left the studs on my Jamis. They may still come in handy. I would post one of those smiley faces here, but I don't think any of them quite convey the frustration I'm experiencing right now. Oh well, I may have to take a well day on Friday and head to Wachusett for some snowboarding.

But at least I don't think I will need to put the Studded tires back on. I think I'll get better traction using regualr tires.

Damm SMJ I hope you'll be ok soon. I feel your pain. You should go on the steak n cheese diet in the winter. The extra weight you put on really strengthens your legs..lol

No, but I was hoping. Sunday was the first time out on the bike since the Sunday after Christmas. Now it'll be another 2 weeks. >:(

Thanks guys.
I had the ACL replacement a couple years ago, so the knee is not 100%.
Just playing with kids in back yard Sunday. Twisted it wrong and down I go. I'll get an MRI this week. May have torn the Meniscus (cushion between large leg bones).
Fortunately the ACL is OK. These reinjuries hurt like hell and set me back a month or so.
No fun getting old. :-[
Had to have the wife run the snowblower this morn.

That really sucks, SMJ. At least the weather is cooperating with your recovery, assuming you can get someone else to shovel.
Best luck on the recovery.

finally got my new handlebar in to replace my old bent one. so, of course, as soon as i fix my bike, it snows. now the question, leave on the studs, go back to my regualr tires, or try out my new maxxis hookworm tires, in teh snow, just to try them out. probably just end up going back to my regular tires, course the day i do that, everything will freeze and i'll go sliding around on ice. but hey, that's new england.

Geeezzzzzz
Never saw so much whining. If you don't like snow move farther south.
Myself, while I love to ride, when it snows, just as happy. Went for a great XC ski through he Blue Hills this mornign before work - spectacular.
Now, snow, then mixed with freezing rain, changing to rain and turning the beautiful white fluffy stuff into a gnarled mess, now that is something to complain about as then , riding sucks and XC skiing sucks even more.
Happy trails,

I just did a short ride on the trail behind my house. Its a short loop, I did maybe 3-4 miles. It was tough, though easier the second loop than the first. Looks like a weekend off from real rides though.
