so i got my new wheels and disc brakes. they sould be coming tomorrow. How difficult are they to install? My bike needs a tune-up anyway so I'll probably have lbs do it unless anyone wants to tutor me. I'll pay you...if interested email me guitarsark@earthlink.net

Are they Avid mech ? If so, they are simple to install. :D All you do is screw in the rotor bolts, screw in the caliper mounting bolts, and run the cable. The only place I had a small problem was with the caliper mounts. I didn't need adapters, but had to use spacers / washers from my avid rim brake parts to get the correct rotor clearence. (You should use a torque wrench for the rotor bolts, though).

Agree, it's pretty straightforward, but....
Don't feel bad about getting a shop to help set them up right the first time.
I installed my own, but I did not get the alignment quite right. A bike mechanic showed me how to adjust them properly and it helped.
