I am guessing rear brake.

Looks like you fabricated the handlebars too. Somebody has been watching too much American Chopper!

Pretty Nutty, but I still can't see how someone can sit on that thing and steer it - you'd have to have Hilla Gorilla arms or something wouldn't you?? ??? ???

Aaaahhh Mr Grimble is right it is my brake. Its my suicide brake. Hes also right about watching too much America Chopper.I did make the bars, stem, upper crown, lower crown, seat post, seat post clamp, steerer tube, and pedals. To answer your question MMcG im 5'6" and have no problem reaching the bars it looks bigger then what it really is. I think its the size of the down tube and the angle its on.

i can attest to the fact that he is vertically challenged. however his arms are way longer than he is tall. real good to have around when you go fruit picking. here is a picture of my chopper. its not pedal powered but it gets me there

Dog awesome chopper!!! But dont you get termites in your undies?? Im going with orange frame w/ grey forks and bars and black lettering. Soon it will be painted and will post more pics. Im building a jig to make frames so i can build any thing i want. Gotta build a couple more now. Cant wait to hit the bike path near me and see everyone stare :)

Cool Dawg. I heard it might be cold and snowy tomorrow so i might have to burn mine to keep warm and dry! Seriously, i'm building one myself but have been waiting for good weather to do some welding in garage (not heated). I've got all the pieces cut and machined, just waiting for the sun. Chopper On!! As for the termites, no prob. my undies are "pressure treated"

An F/S version of this. It could happen. Tung oil finish on this one. Waiting for the stress test data to return

Dawgee you are either courageous or one hellova skilled welder.
I wouldn't send my wourst enemy out on a bike I welded up.... ;D

Very nice! But, Nhiker, if you try to weld that frame, stand back. ;D

Jisch - there's a new project to fill the time now that your guitar is done. This bike needs a companion! Maybe something in mahogany.

actually im not a bad welder. i built all my own race cars/trucks when i use to race so i must be ok because ive been wrecked more then once and my welds have hold

April 5th, 2004, 07:22 PM
;D Kewl, race car man. I used to drag race , New England Dragway. Best time 11.1 @ 121 mph with a 400 cu in Olds 442. What type were you into? (this was "back in the day) 1970"s ,when i was almost young.

I raced at Seekonk Speedway (oval track)for about 11 years. I started off in the 4 cyl. stock car class then moved up to the more modified 4 cyl mini pickup truck class

April 5th, 2004, 10:55 PM
That's a good long time. I raced for almost 5 seasons before i gvae up. I wasn't sponsored and in the end was running the the whole thing by myself. It got to be way to much to handle. Too expensive, time consuming and in a way boring. I was going to get into street stock at Lee in NH with a friend but got married and gave the idea up. Then began to restore and street race 'till i decided it was to dangerous.(didn't take long) Now i don't even like working on our own cars, but would like to restore something again someday

Well you were smarter then i was. Only doing it for 5 years. I had some sponsors but no real money to help out. So now i blow money on my bikes and build choppers LOL Racing became like a job it wasnt fun anymore.

I hear you there, no fun. I think one of the big items that turned me was the day i almost (within 30 ft) plowed into a bridge abbuttment going up 495 at 70mph. The whole thing began to fishtail wildly and had to do some serious correction to get it under control. Used up all 4 (3 + breakdown) lanes for about a mile. Luckily it was early Sun morn., little traffic besides other "towers". Had a good day at the track though. Shook for a couple days after. Oh yeah, fun
