have a decent xc disc wheelset that they are looking to unload? Or, do you know where I can pick a set up. I am trying not to spend too much with the idea that I will eventually build up my own wheelset.

Pricepoint has a Deore disk / Rhyno lite wheelset for $95. My daughter has a set on her bike, as I couldn't see spending 2 - 3X that to build her a wheelset myself. The wheels I got were pretty well built, fairly bombproof, and you can also use 'em with rim brakes. On the downside, Deore hubs aren't sealed as well as higher end stuff so you may have to repack more often.

What's "not too much"?

Are you interested in UST tubeless? I have a set of BRAND NEW black Mavic X3.1 UST disc only laced to Shimano XT black hubs. Black spokes, black nipples. They are sharp as hell, and if you are looking for a top of the line trail wheelset, these are them. I decided to go with the new Mavic 823's (which replaced the D3.1's) and don't need these anymore. $240 + shipping, as I live north of Albany NY. Might be able to do a transaction in person as I pass through the Boston area 6-7 times in the summer.

I guess I am looking in the $100-$200 range. I considered the rhyno lites, but thought they may be a bit heavy. I considered the Mavic UST 3.1s (off of ebay), but decided to aim for sub-$200. Nevertheless FS_Steve, I do have a friend who may be interested in your set (that is if you won't sell them for $200-wink wink).

Jenson has several sets for a decent price too. Mavic 717 laced to XT all black for $199.00 Sun Rhino Lites on LX $99.00 -- Sun Single Track on XT for $145.00

Hey FS-Steve is that your bottom $$ on the 3.1---I'm debating between those and the 717 on the XT's

Hey FS-Steve is that your bottom $$ on the 3.1

For a fellow NEMBA member, $230. (That's less than I paid for them, and they haven't been used). If you can wait till I am in the Boston area that would be the price as no shipping costs are required. ;D

Sorry tmorash, I can't do $200. However, instead of you paying $100 now and $150 more later, you could get these now and save $10. ;D

Hi FS_Steve
I am out of the running, but my buddy is definitely interested. Shoot him an email at mwbacon@yahoo.com. Thanks.

I've got a used disc wheelset from my Rocky Mountain Slayer.
I'll let it go cheap if you're interested.

What are the specs and how much (price and use)?

They are the stock wheels from my 2002 Rocky Mountain Slayer. Used for over a year. Still in good shape.
They've been hanging from my rafters for a long time now.
I can throw them on a gram scale and tell you how much they weigh if you like.
I'd like $75 for the set.

Bob:

Sorry, but the wheelset is no longer available. Hope you find something at the bike show!

Thanks everyone. In a development related to FS_Steve's announcement, I was able to pick up a new used set of wheels.
