mmmm cake, oh you mean the bike. I dont know anyone that has one yet. Perhaps Cycle Loft could hook you up with a demo so you could compare. The Sugar is a fine bike are you unhappy with it?

If you're gonna go for Cake, I think Fashion Nugget is their finest effort to date, although Comfort Eagle is also good.

What on Fashion Nugget, save The Distance, was worth listening to?

I like cup-cakes, lite at grade school parties, like Christmas parties or when kids mom's made them for their birthdays and then brought them in to school and we all had a party. Of course, then you always had the "husky" kid, maybe named Kenny, who would eat the frosted cupcakes with the sprinkles or non-perils on the top and drink the Hi-C/ginger-ale punch and then get all excited and stuff, and then puke. I hate that. Wait a minute, I hate cupcakes.

You may have cake, but not be able to eat it to too...will a new Fisher Cake make you a better rider then you already are with your current fisher?

I like the new GF cake - lot's of manipulated tubing - lightweight looking - it looks well thought out. Haven't taken one for a ride yet. You should ride one and decide...

Karen just remember this forum can be a bit misleading.

Don't actually "have to" get a new bike each season.
A good bike should last more than a couple seasons. ;)

Do what I did.
For a softer ride, just grow a fatter butt. ;D
It's cheaper.

So true! I've had a Fully Active Twin-chamber Adipose Suspension System for years. Easy to aquire and easy to maintain ;D

Who's side are you on? There are few joys in life that are better then new bike. It doesn't really matter what the bike is as long as it is different from what you already have. As for Cake...Prolonging the Magic is my favorite with Sheep go to heaven but Comfort Eagle is good also. I love Short skirt/long jacket. I don't know what any of it means but sounds like a seperate thread.

"I Will Survive", you philistine! Only the best Gloria Gaynor cover EVER! Maybe the only G.G. cover ever....who else has the eggs to do that? ;D

Are you bottoming out the Sugar? If not then you don't need more travel. A better upgrade would be a stable platform coil-over shock. I put one on my Adept(klein sugar) and the effect was remarkable. I still have the shock and only rode it one time before i got the new frame. $140 Fox Vanilla Propedal. #700 spring. #900 also available.

You should get in touch with Splat about that Vanilla R with Propedal.

don't you need sugar to make cake? cake without sugar, well it's just not good. you cna't make a cake with "equal". i think on that basis alone, it wouldn't be bad to strive to get both. as for the actual bikes, i have no experience with either, just personal preference (but that's based on riding style). definitely track one down to demo

I bought a Sugar 3 about 3 years ago. I rode it into the ground: many scars (for both the bike and me), 3 drive trains and it needed another, blah, blah blah. I needed a new bike so I read the reviews of every 'all-mountain' and 'trail' bike and ended up with the Sugar 2+.

Adjustable suspension from 3 in. to 5 in the front and either 2.8 in. or 4.1 in the back. It climbs better, decends a lot better, and even corners better. The problem is in acceleration. It just doesn't accelerate as well in the flats.

I doubt that will change much since the Cake is all-mountain. If speed and acceleration isn't an issue with you go for it. I bet it will be a great bike.

I do like the 2+ especially considering the deal I got on it but I don't love it. I like speed sometimes.

Good luck,
Richie Rich

yeah, i think i'm going to keep my sugar, and satisfy the itch to spend $$ at the bike shop on getting some disc brakes and maybe a new front fork. disc brakes for sure though. I can save some cash this year and buy a leftover cake next year if i still want one.

Won't getting disc brakes entail getting new wheels? just as ???king....

I agree with TGrimble, nothing like a new bike, and the new cake looks really sweet. I think you should upgrade. BTW, what size is your sugar, and how much are you looking to get for it? I know someone who might be interested in the frame.

I decided to keep my sugar and upgrade to disc. It's already all customized the way i like it and i'd hate to regret selling it. Here's an idea!! wait for more cake reviews to come out, if i still want it in a year get a lleftover from this year for less $$. Maybe save up for it so i dont have to sell my sugar, very unlike me...usually i'm selling one thing to get another, very impulsive., anyone relate??
