Has anyone made the trip up to Attitash for some Dhing? I was talking to some DH friends from SR who made the trek over last season. They said the place was pretty good with some man-mades, lots of drops and some real technical stuff.
With SR out of the picture for this season, and Attitash's proximity to a good population (North Conway), maybe they can develop into the big-boy of the East Coast.
Will see but I really hope so.

I was up there this weekend skiing and asked a ski instructor that I was riding the lift with if they were planning on running lifts during the summer. Granted he is probably not an inside decision maker but his comment was that Attitash is the most profitable ASC mountain for summer revenue. They have a great location and have built a larger summer infrastructure on the mountain for summer activities.

That's what I figured. I'm really looking forward to checking it out. North Conway rocks also and is less than an hour from Bethel.

I'm embarrassed to say that I live 10 mins. from Attitash and have never ridden the lift. My son, who's 11, went a couple times last summer and came back bloody both times, so that's a good sign.
They run the lifts for the Alpine Slide & sightseeing, so keeping MTB trails open is minimal additional cost. Attitash's GM and Mtn Ops guy are bikers and definitely are in tune with whats going on. They ran a couple Trail 66 races and a collegiate regional event a few years ago, and those trails rocked.
There is also a full range of XC trails, from strenous climbs on the mountain to flat smooth cruisers along the river across the road.
I'd defiantly join you for some runs. Of course, while you're here you have to sample the rest of the goods.

heheheeh good old attitash... rode there last season some real tech fun stuff..... wasn't great on my xc hardtail but that's all I had at the time.... messed up on some 5 foot drop sprained my shoulder and tore some cartilage... lots of fun but good riding...... bmx course is way too easy and they won't even let you touch the pavement of the skatepark but the actual downhilling's decent... people who work there seemed kinda grumpy though.

Guppy, Brendon and a few of the other SR Lot10 regulars were up there a couple weeks ago and pronounced it good stuff. Said it was reminiscent of SR, just shorter runs. Bikers get perference at the left too - right to the front of the line! ;D
Jiminy has stepped it up this year too - lots of fun stuff out there w/ new stuff popping up constantly. Nothing too crazy, mostly reminds me of Grease Monkey/229 - fun fun fun! Worth a trip.
