Hello, I've sold my FOX AVA shock and I'm wondering about bushings. Do I keep the bushings on the AVA as their the ones for my bike? Does the new shock I buy (undecided yet) come with bushings? I figured that the width of the bushings and the frame manafacturers might have a standard about this stuff, but I'm probably mistaken. Any ideas? Any help is appreciated.

Hmm............. Now I'm really confused. But I suppose if I buy a shock, say a Romic, it's up to them to make sure that it has the bushings that will fit my bike. I think I'm going with a Vanilla RC anyhow as it's cheaper than a romic and doesn't have the ugly red spring. That would look wonderful on my bike ha? Red Spring, Yellow Bike ::)

i have swapped several rear shocks so far. i have had to modify all the bushings-file them to fit the frame. if the buyer has the same bike send him the bushings. most bike shops have replacements for fox shocks,as they come on everything. i put a 5th element air on my gt. the bushings were not even close i removed 1/2 an inch on all four corners. a 10 minute job that became a 3 hour ordeal.

I'll just keep my bushings and I'm going to buy another fox shock as they all have the same mounting I believe for the bushings. MY BUSHINGS >:(
It's up to the buyer to make sure he has the proper bushings for his bike. Knuckle

There's an installation kit, specific to your bike model and size, that you will need for your new shock. The kit contains the appropriate bushings and hardware. There is no standard for shocks or frames. Some frames have clearance issues with some shocks so be sure that remote reservoirs and the shock body (new air shock bodies can be large) clear the frame.

The shock vendor builds the shock to fit certain models of bikes, and each should also stock bushings, reducers, and mountain hardware needed to install it. Fox gets around $15 for theirs, but I've been lucky with Progressive & they send me a fresh kit when my 5th E. was in for a rebuild.

fox 's replacement bushings have been an easy install and fit with no modification. 5th element air shock bushing kits were not even close. i called the bike shop that ordered them, then progressive's tech support. they both gave the same part# it did not fit the frame without major work!

Save the bushings. In a pinch you can use them for nose and ear plugs.
