Went out hiking this afternoon and the south side. Started from the small parking lot located off of KG Ranch Road. Started up the road on the north side of the road and took the first right . The main trail stays straight. The trail I was on is not used by mt. bikers for the most part. It was about 80% clear of snow and ice. Not bad at all but soft in some spots. At next intersection took a left and then another left. This section parallels the Rt. 95 trail for quite a way. Then banged a final left back onto the trail I started on. This trail (which is the main trail) was quite soft in many sections. Two guys on dirt bikes passed me. It was absolutely beautiful out! My gut feeling is that the trails will need at least a week of two to really start drying out.

Unfortunately it is supposed to be even warmer over the weekend so I'm sure a lot of riders are itching to get out, Hopefully that won';t cause of lot of problems with ruts. I;m sure some trails will still be covered with snow and ice and they might hold up better to use. Going snowboarding until middle of next week and will check conditions then and report back.

Checked out the south side this afternoon. Most of the trails I checked were in quite good shape all things considered. Most of the snow and ice are gone except for a couple of patches here and there. There are some soft sections. By the weekend things should improve somewhat.

Did not check anything on the north side since I assume it is not in as good as shape as the south side. Temps. back to normal for next week starting on Sunday. Enjoy.

Great info. Depending on the weather this week I may check out the riding on Thursday morning.

Rode Arcadia south side this morning. The trails were in wonderful shape. The bike doesn't even need to be cleaned. There is quite a bit of wood on the trail though. Watch the derraileur (or ride a SS (even better))

Happy Trails ;D ;D ;D

Unfortunately (at least if you hoping to get out riding soon) Arcadia picked up about 4-5 inches of snow. Lots of branches hanging across the trails due to the heavy snow. Not much melting until this weekend maybe. It's a shame because the trails were in really awesome shade considering the time of the year. Maybe in a week or so things will look more positive .
