Thinking about a front fender for my mountain bike to keep some of the grit out of my teeth.

My experience with road bike fenders is they:
- come loose and rattle
- get clogged with snow or mud, and need to be cleared frequently
- amplify noise
- look like crap

I know the first two items on this list are not an issue anymore with the "easy install" mtb fenders.

I don't think item 3 is much of an issue any more.

But item #4 -- Are there any that don't look cheap and cheesey, but still work well?

Which ones are better?

What are you using and why?

Thanks.

Here's and old thread that slomo started...

I don't run fenders on my mtn bike...just my 'townie bike, and some clip ons for the road bike.

HaHa ;D
That brings back memories CP.

That thread is when I first learned fenders are gay. ;D

Yea, Evil gave quite a ration of crap when my first pretty front fender broke in half on our cold winter's ride at Wompy.

Since then I only use the shorty on the downtube...and only when I'm riding alone. ;D

Mud Machine! I only run a front myself-to preserve my eyeballs. This is the only fender that works-they're a small outfit with tremendous C.S. and a full warranty against abusive behavior!
