Rear shocks

Hey everyone,

Has anyone got any suggestions on a replacement rear shock? I have a Trek Fuel that needs an upgrade from its Fox Float (2002) and there are so many choices that I am getting confused. I have a Psylo SL fork, I chose the Psylo because I wanted a set it and forget it fork. Yes, I'm aware that most of you are partial to Marzocchi, so I don't want to hear any wise cracks!
My riding consists of cross country riding in Tennessee (Yes, I moved from Mass.) which is similar to Mass. less the snow and fewer rocks. I am looking to get an air shock that will not create an unbalnced feel when matched with the Psylo. Is the Fox Float with ProPedal that much better than the last generation? Anyone try the Cane Creek Cloud Nine? I have heard that the Manitou Swinger w/SPV would create an unbalanced suspension.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Gee, don't respond all at once! I guess you need to be in the 200+ posts group to be considered worthy of a response. Any how, I went with a Fox Float RLC w/Propedal and I swapped the Psylo for a Marzocchi Marathon SL. I hope you're all enjoying the snow.

I was knd of hoping you'd get some response, since I need to replace my rear shock too.

Better late than never. I had a float rl, now a float propedal/ava (IMO who really needs to fart around with ava once you dial in). Yes, you can tell the differance. For those still looking I think that the January issue of MBA did a pretty good job of contrasting stable platform shocks.

I also have a Marathon SL. When I scrape a pile together it will probably get tossed. Either going Z or Vanilla. Want a bit more travel and I don't know, the Marathon just sort of leaves me cold.

I'm still in a food coma from last weekend. I have the fox coil r.Seems pretty good. How do ya like the marzzocci over the psyco.lol ?
