Does anyone out there have any input on the "off" brand bike tools out there? I am wanting to buy the basics, but not sure how brands such as Spin Doctor or Lifu stand up. I know Park makes the best, and you get what you pay for. If anyone out has any tools they want to part with let me know.

Personally, I've found that Park Tools are very affordable and of very good quality. If you wish to support local tool manufacturers, try some of the Pedro's tools aswell. I especially like the Pedro's bottle opener!

best,

i personally like park tools, though i have heard great things about pedros as well. as far as the off brand, make sure they have the same specs and are durable. it will be better to make the investment in good tools that will last then buy junk tools that don't fit that well or bend easily. go to your local shop and ask their opinion. most shops will support park, pedros, and craftsman, or stanely. for bike specific tools i would recomend making investments in the good stuff. check and see if your local shop will cut a deal with you if you buy a bunch of tools. you could get them through catalogues for possibly cheaper, but if you go online to check them out, i would highly recommend http://biketoolsetc.com/ for their huge selection and good prices.

Thanks for the info. Since no one spoke up for any of the off brands I think I will just stick with the Parks. Now the hard part.....figuring out everything that I need ???
