This is very likely to occur, if the current activities of buildings tricks and illegal trails continues.
Two weeks ago the SeaCoast Chapter of NEMBA held an emergency trail day at Fort Rock, after being asked by the Exeter Conservation Committee to close off some illegal trails and drops. A dozen people showed up for the event and pitched in to remove the transition ramps and block off access to these drops. Trees were transplanted to in these areas to naturalize the area agian.
This past Saturday, some fellow riders were in the area and noticed that these drops had been opened back up, the transplated trees had been pulled out of the ground and the brush and downfalls had been removed from the area. These riders took the time away from there riding and moved the brush and downfalls back. I want to thank them for doing that, if the Conservation Commision had seen that these areas were still open they would have assumed that they had never been closed off to begin with and damaging the relationship that the SeaCoast Chapter has worked very hard to foster.
I like to do drops and ride tricks as well, but if this area is going to stay open to mt bike access, we (mt bikers) are going to have stop building drops and illegal trails in Fort Rock.
So please, if you see or hear of someone engaged in this activity inform them that it is illegal to do so, and will eventually result in mt bikers losing access priviledges to Fort Rock. (Henderson Swasey Town Forest and Oakland Town Forest)
