This is very likely to occur, if the current activities of buildings tricks and illegal trails continues.
Two weeks ago the SeaCoast Chapter of NEMBA held an emergency trail day at Fort Rock, after being asked by the Exeter Conservation Committee to close off some illegal trails and drops. A dozen people showed up for the event and pitched in to remove the transition ramps and block off access to these drops. Trees were transplanted to in these areas to naturalize the area agian.
This past Saturday, some fellow riders were in the area and noticed that these drops had been opened back up, the transplated trees had been pulled out of the ground and the brush and downfalls had been removed from the area. These riders took the time away from there riding and moved the brush and downfalls back. I want to thank them for doing that, if the Conservation Commision had seen that these areas were still open they would have assumed that they had never been closed off to begin with and damaging the relationship that the SeaCoast Chapter has worked very hard to foster.
I like to do drops and ride tricks as well, but if this area is going to stay open to mt bike access, we (mt bikers) are going to have stop building drops and illegal trails in Fort Rock.

So please, if you see or hear of someone engaged in this activity inform them that it is illegal to do so, and will eventually result in mt bikers losing access priviledges to Fort Rock. (Henderson Swasey Town Forest and Oakland Town Forest)

Well Said SuperFat. I was with the group on Saturday and the same stuff has been discussed at Minesfalls and Yudicky in Nashua. Last year the Park commision discussed paving the main jeep roads in this park and closing everything else off to bikes and failing this banning bikes entirely. We at the SCNH chapter have worked hard to keep what public land is left in Nashua open and available to us. Whenever the cowboy bikers build illegal stunts or reopen erroded trails they cause us nothing but grief and make us enemies in the parks dept. and city. I believe that people need a place to ride that nutty stuff (I am old ! ::) But the communities and land managers as they see it have a duty to protect these resources. All I am suggesting if this kind of riding is your thing get involved and work within the system. Don't kill the sport because you think you have a right to ride anyway you want where you want.

In all respect, I do enjoy the sport of Mt Biking but to do this is all wrong & I do agree with the two partys for what they had to say on this vital issue. I could not of agreeded more with is!! :) I hope in the future we can resolve the conflict so we can enjoy the right to ride. I know that I have made certain wrong remarks about Ft Rock but I now have all the facts as TRUTH!!!! Thanks again for setting the truth here!!!! :)

Yours truly,
Daniel Wylie
