So we were rebuilding PK's 2002 Psylo last week (new seals and oil) and I noticed that the fork had a serious flaking problem of the powdercoat finish. It seemed that contamination of some kind had lifted/blistered much of the finish. In short, it looked like hell.
After a bunch of stripping/brushing/cleaning and a few coats of paint, here's the new deal.

It's a metallic dark green with dark silver maple leaf sillouettes.
The first paint job was a harlequin theme but the DaMn clearcoat blistered in the baking process and I had to start over from scratch.

Mighty Nice Couch!
Is this sort of a side business for you? How much does a fork makeover cost ballparkwise if you don't mind me asking?

Naw, I don't really do it as a side or anthing. PK's fork looked like such crap though I couldn't bring myself to rebuild it w/out a re-paint ;)
Time required is very dependant on the fork and the color and the complexity of the stencils. We spent a while on PK's as it had to be totally stripped. If the basecoat is good, I typically just prep the imperfections, clean and rough up the existing finish.
The costly thing is the paint/components. I've been using colors that I have but to buy new are expensive. A pint usually costs about $30 and that's just the paint and not the reducer and then multi-part clearcoat.
If anyone really has something in mind, shoot me a message and I can see if it feasable.
