I was surfing Jensonusa.com last night and low and behold what do I find but Sinister frames for sale online.
Kind of surprised me a bit.
Does this have anything to do with the new financial backer or owner of Sinister? Did someone buy Sinister or are the Sinister guys just receiving some investment capital?
Can anyone shed some light?

Is going huge necessarily a good thing though? Sometimes yes, othertimes - no.
I'd love to learn more about the future of Sinister.

I dont think Sinister will ever be "huge". When I think of "huge" I think Trek or specialized. Looks like they are trying to make a living building bikes full time. I hope they succeed. I figure if they keep true to there mission they will continue to provide good products. I doubt we will ever see mass produced Sinisters.
I'm waiting for the Sinister "trailbike" 5" F&R made for NE singletrack.......... hello Bill are you listening?

AA,
I think the Sinister guys would see plenty of customers lining up for a 5 and 5 East Coast Stylee trail bike.
I wonder if they have anything in the works?

There is a good article on bustedspoke with answers to all your questions.

Thanks for the info Bill - just read the article and listened to the MP3 audio interview.
Sounds like Sinister going big is going to be a great thing!! The Santa Cruz of the East Coast perhaps - ooh not sure if that'll sit well with Todd though. ;)
Man, I can't wait to see what comes out of Bellows Falls in the upcoming years.

There goes the exclusivity of owning a Sinister. Next thing we know, they'll be mass produced in Taiwan or China.

Click on this link, scroll down to about the 7th post or 5th from the bottom and you'll see Bill L.'s new project. 6" and 6". I don't know why they aren't going after the 5" market, or if the one they built last year was 5" and they're still at it. I seriously wanted to give them my business when I was looking, but they told me they were still in pre-production. Too bad for me I couldn't wait for them to figure out the business changes.

I think that's the one that made such a big splash last year. I wish they were in production then, but 'twas not to be. Maybe I'll be ready in a couple years.

Bill L. is no longer with Sinister (which Sonnax has sold). FTW is reportedly the controlling owner (with some private financial backing). At least that's my understanding......

Although the last few months were extremely stressful for myself and the company, I am still with Sinister Bikes and things are moving forward once more. My primary focus these days are R&D and product development. My latest project is very near and dear to me, its our new Splinter line. See Below:

It's the bike I've always wanted to build - light, strong and just enough travel to keep you honest (the MX version pictured has adjustable travel settings for 4, 5 or 6 inches). The ER version is a more XC oriented version, with 4, 4.5 or 5 inches of travel, for more info please check out the site, I don't want to clog this post with a marketing pitch.
With FTW now at the helm and the solid backing he's brought in, you can expect good things from Sinister for 2005.
I hope this helps and thank you for all the support.
