on my winter wishlist is avid 7" cable disc brakes. could i run these QR axles without problems? they're xt disc hubs and QR's, mounted to a jamis komodo frame and a psylo sl (likely to be upgraded to a fox vanilla). the reason i want to go with the 7 over 6 is stopping power. i ride kinda fast and weigh 240lbs, so i like the idea of a little extra umphh in my brakes. any input on this plan?

I ran Magura Julies (hydraulic), which have a 7" rotor, on an '01 Psylo SL for two years with QRs. This fall the Julies got replaced with Hayes HFX with an 8" front rotor. I weigh 160# and tend to ride in very rough terrain.
I have experieced no problems, but that as a single observation proves nothing.

I run the 7" Avid Ball Bearing Discs on my Z1 fork - QR. No problems thus far. I also run the 6 in the back - and ditto -no probs - weigh in at 215. The 7 was a big improvement to stopping power when compared to the 6 up front. The 6" has plenty of stopping power for the back (for my riding style)
