Drove the hour yesterday to join the benefit ride that was being held there. We actually showed up kind of late and missed the main group. This was probably a good thing as they rode too fast for me. Anyhow, we really didn't know what to expect other than a review of the trail (http://content.mtbr.com/pscTrails/United,States,Trails/Massachusetts/,RAYBURN/PRD_168448_4554crx.aspx)What an absolute hidden (well... hidden to me, anyway) gem this place is. It seems to have been built by and for mountain bikers. Some of the trails are so tight and winding that one can barely ride faster than a complete stop to take the many weaves and zig zags and greater than 90 degree turns while negotiating the trees and rocks. Skills that I don't use often were constantly tested. It's not exactly for beginners, some of which were in my group, which slowed us down quite a bit, but it was very fun nonetheless.

So three and a half hours later we finished. By then it was too late for us to join the after party, but we were all grateful for the awakening to these trails' existence. I just wanted to put the word out.

:DCool. I'll have to check it out. I've never been there. Is a map available?
